Welcome to the future Exhibition and Event Page of the Olowe of Ise Museum. our mission is to honor the artistic legacy of Olowe of Ise, one of Nigeria’s greatest artists, through a variety of planned exhibitions and cultural events. As we move closer to realizing this vision, we invite you to imagine a space where Olowe’s intricate wood carvings will be displayed, offering an immersive experience that celebrates Yoruba culture and African art.

  • The Master’s Carvings: Royal Commissions of Olowe of Ise Permanent Exhibition

This exhibition will showcase some of the most iconic works of Olowe of Ise, including his renowned verandah posts, palace doors, and sacred objects once commissioned by Yoruba royalty. Visitors will have the chance to explore dynamic forms, narrative scenes, and detailed carvings that have made Olowe a celebrated figure in African art history.

Upcoming Events: Fundraising for the Olowe of Ise Museum

We invite you to join us for an exclusive Fundraising Gala to support the development of the Olowe of Ise Museum. This event will raise essential funds to bring our vision to life, from acquiring and repatriating Olowe’s works from international collections to constructing and expanding exhibition spaces. The gala will feature:

Keynote Address

Governor Biodun Oyebanji will share his vision for the museum, followed by remarks from esteemed guests.

Art Auction

Bid on rare Nigerian artworks, with all proceeds supporting the museum’s initiatives.

Exclusive Exhibition Preview

Experience a sneak peek of recently repatriated works, including Olowe’s verandah posts and ceremonial carvings.

Cultural Performances

Enjoy live traditional Yoruba music and dance, showcasing the rich heritage of Ekiti State.

Sponsorship Opportunities

(₦150,000,000): Twenty-five spaces available.

(₦25,000,000): A 12” by 12” sculpture of the sponsor’s image will be placed on the Sculpture Wall (limited to 150 spaces).
